The Christmas story unfolds in a world much like our own, marked by fear, uncertainty, and a deep longing for change. The shepherds, living under oppression and without hope, were drawn to Bethlehem with urgency because their world could not wait for light. In the same way, we come carrying our own burdens, aware that something in our lives and in the world needs transformation now. In encountering Jesus, we receive light that is not meant to be held but shared through hope, love, and action. As we carry that light beyond the sanctuary, we participate in God’s work of renewal, proclaiming good news in a dark world and helping to change it one flame at a time.
