2 Timothy 1:1-14

Our calling is not just about us. It is shaped by the people who came before us, the communities that sustain us, and the challenges that refine us. Spiritually, this passage from 2 Timothy highlights the communal nature of vocation: we are bearers of a faith passed down through generations, called to bring light where death and despair have taken hold. Psychologically, it affirms that even our struggles and suffering prepare us for our calling, and teach us resilience, compassion, and wisdom. This week’s message encourages us to honor the voices and relationships that have shaped us, as we step into the holy work of bringing life, love, and good news into the world.

These series remind us that our spiritual journey—whether wrestling with ritual, reclaiming justice, or discovering our calling—draws us into deeper connection with God, ourselves, and others. In this sacred work, we are continually invited to live authentically, courageously, and compassionately, embodying God’s transformative presence in every aspect of life.
