Host Family Ministry

Dear Grace Families,

As we step into 2025 and embrace the theme of SACRED, we invite you to join our Host Family Ministry and help foster sacred relationships within our church community.

Who Can Be a Host Family?

A host family is any combination of at least two people—family, friends, prayer partners, neighbors, or anyone who feels called to serve. "Family" can be as loosely defined as you like—it’s about connection, not relation.

By participating as a host family, you help create an environment where sacred relationships can grow, as we welcome and care for one another in meaningful ways.

What Does a Host Family Do?

  • As Greeters: Arrive 20-25 minutes early to greet people warmly at the door. Introduce yourself to those you don’t know and begin learning names.
  • As Ushers: Assist with simple tasks like closing sanctuary doors, passing offering plates, and opening doors for exiting during the benediction.

For Families with Kids

  • Acolyte Opportunity: Adults and children aged 7 and older can serve as acolytes, lighting the candles at the beginning of the service and extinguishing them at the end. (We just received some new stoles for the kids to wear during acolyte!)
  • Nursery Availability: If you have young children, we will have childcare provided for you if necessary prior to the start of service to make it easier for your family to participate. The nursery is also available between services for ushering families.

Sacred Connections Start with YOU!

The Host Family Ministry is about more than greeting—it’s about being present, creating moments of grace, and fostering the sacred connections that make Grace Presbyterian feel like home.

We’re asking each family to consider serving just one Sunday a month. To sign up for this week or a future Sunday, please use the updated Sign Up Genius or contact Audrey Smith directly at Audrey@gracecolorado.com.

Together, we can make 2025 a year where sacred relationships flourish. Thank you for helping create a warm, welcoming space for everyone in our community.

With Grace,

Pastor Dani
