Our Hope in Revelation: The letter of first John opens with this great revelation about the Word of life (similar to the beginning of the Gospel according to John as well as Genesis 1:1). The author continues to expand upon how the Word that became flesh has been revealed to us. We follow Resurrection Sunday with the hope of God’s continual revelation to our lives. The scripture passage discusses light and darkness but not in a manner of “good v. bad” but rather this “knowing v. unknowing.” The incarnation reveals this knowing to us. We are no longer walking in the darkness because we know this great light, the Word, the logos, the beginning, the flesh, the Christ.
