Scripture Reading

Surely God is my salvation;
I will trust, and will not be afraid,
for the Lord is my strength and my might;
he has become my salvation.
With joy you will draw water from the wells of salvation.
And you will say in that day:
Give thanks to the Lord, call on his name; make known his deeds among the nations; proclaim that his name is exalted.
Sing praises to the Lord, for he has done gloriously; let this be known in all the earth.
Shout aloud and sing for joy, O Zion, for great in your midst is the Holy One of Israel.

-Isaiah 12:2-6

Candle Lighting

Leader: Today is a day of rejoicing!

People: As we wait, we anticipate the joy to come and celebrate the joy of this day.

Leader: We have lit the candles of hope and of peace. In the glow of their light we feel the warmth of deep and quiet joy.

People: This gift of joy brings us closer to the heart of God.

Leader: As we light this candle of joy, let our lives be a light of joy for all to see.

People: Let our joyful hearts overflow with compassion and kindness.

Leader: Let us worship in the name of Christ, who offers us hope in times of despair, peace in the chaos of life and joy throughout our lives.
